How to get there?

Schiphol Airport - Amsterdam Central Station
Schiphol Airport is the main airport of the Netherlands, with direct connections to more than 200 international destinations. The distance from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam city centre is 20 km.

Trains run every 15 minutes directly from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station. Train tickets are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. Tickets (for both domestic and international travel) are also available at the ticket offices. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with additional travel information.

A first-class train ticket from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station costs Euro 5.90 and a second-class ticket Euro 3.60.

You can also take a taxi from Schiphol Airport. The trip to Amsterdam centre costs approximately Euro 50 and takes 20 minutes. To ensure reliable service at a reasonable price, it is a good idea to order a taxi in advance of your arrival. To the EARIE2006 Venue from Amsterdam Central Station or Amstel Station
The EARIE2006 conference will take place in and around the Faculty of Economics and Business (UvA/ FEB/ Building E) located at Roetersstraat 11,1018 WBAmsterdam.

Accommodations booked via the EARIE2006 website are all located in the city-center. Please deposit your luggage at your hotel before coming to the congress venue. For security reasons there will be no storage facilities.

From Amsterdam Central Station, take any metro (51-53-54) to the Weesperplein stop, where you should take the Roetersstraat/Valckeniersstraat exit. At the end of the street turn left, cross the bridge and pass the restaurant to reach the main entrance of the faculty building.

Alternatively, from Amsterdam Central Station, take tram 9 to Diemen Sniep and get out at Plantage Kerklaan (7th stop). This stop is in the direct vicinity of the Artis Zoo. On the Plantage Kerklaan you need to go south-west in the direction of the Plantage Muidergracht. After about 200 meters turn left to the Roeterstraat.

From Amstel Station, take any metro in the direction of Central Station.Get out at the Weesperplein stop and follow the directions given above.

Public Transport tickets
In general you will not need to use public transport during the congress. For that it is convenient to use a bus-, tram- or metroticket ("strippenkaart") with 15 "strips", which costs Euro 6.50. Most trips in the centre require two "strips" to be stamped. These tickets can be purchased at the airport, at train stations and at tobacconists in the centre of Amsterdam. Please note that it is much more expensive to pay your fare on the bus or tram. Another possibility is to buy a 24-hour ticket which is available at the reduced price of Euro 4.20.
